Egg Hunt Fun Raises £500
Children's laughter, blue and yellow balloons, hidden goodies and a giant 6-foot fluffy bunny stole the scene last week as local families took to the spring sunshine for the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Wimbledon's South Park Gardens.
Hugely popular with the little ones, there were hidden lollypop sticks in flower beds, chocolate eggs galore and a very large chocolate bunny for the raffle - all enthusiastically sponsored by Wimbledon Estate Agents Ellisons in close co-operation with the Friends of South Park Gardens.
Sharp-eyed and excited, under-7s with their mums and dads turned out in force to brave the brisk March breeze, raising an impressive £90 for the raffle and well over £500 for the event itself!
The money will go to help the Friends of South Park Gardens improvement programme, which has already contributed £20,000 towards restoring the gardens to their Victorian glory, re-opened to the public in June 2009.
Always glad to do their part, Ellisons' staff pitched in with gusto. Karl and Fergus of the Wimbledon office blew up all the balloons. Not to be outdone, Julia from the Lettings office and son Oscar handed them out to the hundreds, yes hundreds, of people attending.
Later in the year, Ellisons will sponsor further activities with the Friends of South Park Gardens, as well as other events involving local schools and community projects.
